The Swiss Clinical Trials Organisation (SCTO) provides comprehensive resources, such as templates and guidance documents, aimed at facilitating collaboration between researchers and PPI contributors.

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for creating and managing databases and online surveys, developed by Vanderbilt University. Widely used by academic and non-profit organizations for research data collection, REDCap allows researchers to establish their own databases. You can explore training materials, manuals, and course information below.

Templates

Please note: We provide (S)AE templates for various study types. The template for IMP trials is available in our template database, while others (e.g., blinded IMP trials, other clinical trials according to ClinO Chapter 4, medical device trials) can be requested from the Data Management division.

Coffee Lectures Medicine & Sciences

Coffee Lectures Medicine & Sciences provides new and valuable information for researchers in enjoyable 15-minute sessions at lunch time.

Online Walk-in for Literature Search

Are you stuck with your literature search? Consult the guide on conducting a systematic literature search or drop by virtually and talk to UniBE's information specialist, Tania, each Wednesday, 11:00-12:30 and 16:00-18:00 on Zoom.

Inselspital Vademecum

The Vademecum of the Directorate for Teaching and Research (Direktion Lehre und Forschung - DLF) is an online tool that supports researchers in planning and carrying out research projects, particularly the administrative aspects.

It guides you through all project phases and offers practical help in finding information, best practices, sample forms, and the right contacts.

University of Bern's Research Compliance Guidelines

These guidelines provide researchers with information, regulations and contacts on topics of research compliance and good research practice that are important for conducting research at the University of Bern.

presize: precision based sample size calculation

It is sometimes desirable to power a study on the precision of an estimate rather than for a particular hypothesis test. presize provides a range of functions for performing these calculations. presize returns either the confidence interval width that could be expected given a sample size, or the sample size that would be necessary to attain a given confidence interval width.

The SCTO Platforms develop practical tools for the academic clinical research community in Switzerland
and beyond.
