Information Concerning Grant Proposals

At DCR, we strongly recommend developing grant proposals well in advance of the submission deadline. We work closely with researchers and collaborators from the start, several months before the due date to ensure thorough preparation. This approach allows ample time for important considerations, including Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), optimal study design, statistics, and data management options.

To ensure the highest quality support, we ask that consultations be initiated 6-9 months before grants are due, when planning starts, so that we can discuss design, which then influences statistical considerations. We are highly unlikely to be able to assist with grants if within 6 weeks of submission deadline.  Early planning enables us to provide the best possible guidance and ensures the success of your project.

Please note that the University of Bern Grants Office may also have deadlines that need to be met if the grant proposal is being submitted to an SNF career funding scheme, the EU or a US federal agency. Please consult their advisory services page.
