Are you a survivor of breast or colorectal (bowel) cancer? Join the EVALUATE study!
EVALUATE is a research project investigating whether people who were diagnosed between 5 and 10 years ago with breast or colorectal cancer are at increased risk of developing, a form of fatty liver disease that can lead to serious health complications if not detected early. This disease is known as MASLD (Metabolic dysfunction-associated Steatotic Liver Disease). Because there are new treatments, it is important to see how common it is. We think it may be more common in people with a history of cancer.
The study involves maximum 2 visits to give blood and have an ultrasound of the liver. Only some participants will be invited for a second visit which includes a MRI scan of the liver.
By understanding how common MASLD is in people who have had cancer and identifying those most at risk, EVALUATE aims to support patients having better long-term care and follow-up.
