Clinical Trials in Action for Clinicians |
| Goal |
We invite course participants to experience DCR activities at the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU), Clinical Investigator Unit (CIU), and with the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Program. |
| Content |
For 1 week, course participants
- observe consultations for various clinical trials, including obtaining informed consent and administration of trial procedures and therapies
- interact with research teams; patients and their families; and PPI contributors to understand why clinical research is important
- understand the different roles of people involved in clinical research
- demonstrate value-based knowledge of PPI when conducting clinical trials
- explain clinical research priorities in Switzerland related to professionalization
- describe how CTUs and CIUs contribute to clinical research in Switzerland
- develop different clinical research and clinical trial design elements with support from DCR Bern
